Saturday, May 2, 2015 - Raymond's Bachelor Party (Royal Plaza on Scotts): Tasted blind. Pop and poured.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, vanilla, milk chocolate, roasted chestnuts, cinnamon spice, blackberry, black cherries, and dark red plum with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol, high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of cassis, licorice, vanilla, cinnamon, milk chocolate, blackberries, black cherries, dark red plums, peppery spice. Long finish.
Very good quality. Clearly New World style. Hedonistic flavour profile. Adolescent age now, this will develop nicely and be even better in about 3-4 years' time.
