Wednesday, November 22, 2006 - This was opened at the CWM cellar dinner at Courtrights and paired with a course of Petite Rack of New Zealand Lamb, Potatoes-Bacon, Fennel Gratin and Lamb Jus. Scubarex brought this to the dinner. One of the wines I was looking forward to the most and also the most disappointing. Decanted for 11 hours. Just about got hit in the face with a 2x4 when I first smelled this wine. Very oaky. Young and tight on the palate. Thick texture and extremely primary at this stage. Notes of boysenberry, leather and toasted oak. Big wine but not much complexity now. 91+ points.
