Wednesday, August 31, 2011 - (blind tasting of an unknown Bordeaux)
dark red-black color with no lighter rim
great rich developed & classic Pauillac vanilla-oak & chocolate aroma of high-quality wine
on the palate backward fruits - smoky plum, blackberry and black currant - firm tannin, high acidity & bitterness, full-body, med-balanced as the aroma is much richer & enjoyable than the rather bitter taste. Nevertheless, a lovely wine to sniff for hours.
