Monday, January 1, 2007 - Opened and breathed for two and a half hours then decanted vigorously into a claret jug. Deep garnet-purple color-- excellent. Nose still tight but with elements of berry and vanilla. Fruit is very backward on the palate still and though well-balanced I wonder if it has enough to go the distance. Beautiful finish. Difference of opinion among drinkers with point scores of 87 to 90. This is beautiful claret in a classic style but it is not a fabulous bottle of Bordeaux.
