Saturday, May 11, 2013 - Removed the cork on Friday morning, re-corked, then aerated to decanter for three hours on Saturday before the dinner.

Captivating aromas and flavors for the first few minutes, but then an odd array of flavors including stem, green olive and red cabbage. By the second glass this has mostly come together, but it's obvious this needs more time to knit. Should be quite something in the coming years. Head and shoulders above the 05 Lascombes that came before it, but eclipsed by the stunning '03 Cos d'Estournel that followed this wine. Drink thru 2024
