95 Points

Monday, October 13, 2014 - Poured a glass through the Vinturi. Dark purple, seamless, soft, silky texture. Nose of smoked berries and macerated dark fruits followed by bacon fat with some lavender and sun dried rosemary showing up as well. On the palate the dark berries and pepper is there but give it time. The is a lot of structure off the bat that will give with a 4 hour decant. Softer tannins at this point lead to tar, licorice, asphalt after a summer rain. Grilled meat and blackberry are followed by some graphite. Minerality and acidity keeping this bad boy poised. Can't say enough about this wine. It certainly is making us reevaluate our tastes and shifting what we look for in wines now.
