Thursday, February 17, 2011 - Energentic and admirable effort for this Paso Robles aged Zin. A house favorite at Rio Seco
for many years, hats off to Tom and his crew for a real snappy, compelling wine. Slow to
come around, but after a few hours developed a warm nose of red fruit and underbrush.
Weaves together firm, tannic structure with dried cherry and red licorice. The second
night, raspberry jam and juicy pomegranite provided a robust, expressive aspect to
this well made red. Considerable fruit representation still exihists, but the finish is
just a bit short. This has held up extraordinarily for an 11 year old Zin from this
region. Drink now.
