Sunday, July 11, 2004 - Barrel sample. I saved the best for last. Made from 14 year old vines with low yields. This had a gorgeous nose filled with violet and cherry aromas. Notes of new leather and cassis among the smokey red fruit. Silky tannins and a long finish. This is going to be outstanding. This is a Bordeaux look alike. I am sure I could put this in a lineup with a half dozen 2001 Bordeaux and it would fit right in. 90-92 points.
