Friday, May 29, 2015 - Perhaps should have decanted longer than an hour. It started out wild, with an astringent mid-palate and an acidic finish. Still good mind you, one of the better Aubert's. After an hour, the harshness had mellowed, but time was up. I suspect I would score this wine higher with another could of years in the cellar or more time in the decanter. Very Burgundian style, not fruit forward and some earth. I believe Aubert's own claim that this will last through 2026. I'm on the Aubert mailing list, but only have a few bottles. Will wait awhile until cracking the Reuling, SV or estate vineyard, as Ritchie is supposedly the most approachable now.
