This has some great raspberry fruit, a little bit of spice, not really much zin-ny bramble (I guess that's more DCV). Really thick mouthfeel, very rich, but too much heat, alcohol on the finish. Not really enough acid to cut it, or to go with food well. I think my tastes have really shifted from this sort of wine. I know Carlisles are known to age well, but I have trouble seeing how this will turn into something I choose to drink when I have other options in the cellar.

    9/25/2017 4:41:00 PM - This was my initial impression on Day 1. I found on Day 2 a shift: less hot, and more food friendly, some of the opulence receded and replaced with some complexity.
