That said, there was also some jarring heat-induced meaty Mourvedre-like notes as well as some plum/fruitcake Syrah elements. No, it doesn’t taste like a Rhone - it tastes like a weird hybrid of a cab and a GSM. And yes there is a ton of “Rutherford dust” as another TN put it. It’s a definite and heavy style, not really aligned with my palate although others might enjoy the Phil Spector aspects of it more. At the elevated price, not for me.
