Monday, September 10, 2012 - Opened this bottle as I had noticed slight leakage into the capsule, so it could be that my impression below are from a bottle that was not 100% ok.
This bottle has developed a fair bit since I first tried this wine 9 months ago, and seems to be going where my initially very nice 05 Cru Bourgeois went some 2 years ago (and have not come back yet): While the nose and the attack are still very nice - dark fruit, a fair bit of toasted oak (upon opening too much for my taste), barnyard, coffee - the formerly abundant fruit on the mid-palate has been substantially shed and what you get now is first a bit of a hollow mid-palate, particularly given the very creamy attack, and then fairly serious, drying tannins. This applied to the rest of the bottle on day 2 even more so than to the first glasses on day 1.
If you have a couple bottles and have not tried, would PnP one to enjoy what could be the last months of primary fruit pleasure, if you have already tried, I will put mine aside for some 2+ years and hope that this will be even better to drink once / if the tannins start to soften.
