91 Points

Wednesday, May 30, 2007 - Anwar opened a bottle of this wine at his home over Memorial Day weekend for some of the CWM. The WA gave this 96 points. It is a blend of 56% Roussanne, 24% Viognier and 20% Chardonnay. SQN white wines have never wowed me (albeit in limited experience) since many seem to fall into the overmanipulated category. This was no exception. It was somewhat of a beast but was impressive for the intensity of its flavors. Notes of charcoal smoke, Indian spice, vanilla oak and waxy white fruit. Very concentrated. Full bodied. If this were a style I liked I would certainly score it closer to the Parker rating. Still this is one of the highest scores I have given to a Chardonnay blend. 91 points.
