Thursday, July 23, 2015 - Light cardinal-amaranth color, slightly cloudy. This had a nose of tart red berries, herbs, and exotic spices. On the palate, this is light-bodied and elegant, with bright red fruit flavors and a touch of the limestone-infused clay soil underlying this area. Fairly acidic at this point, the wine can stand up to a variety of richer and spicier dishes. However, I'd be interested to taste this again in a few years once the acid recedes and more of the fruit and tertiary flavors emerge.
