Sunday, December 10, 2017 - Initially upon opening this wine - it was a little shut down. On the nose it really was lacking. On the palate also, felt that maybe it was past its prime. Hoping for the best, poured into a decanter for 30 minutes and it completely changed! Lots of red fruit, spice, black pepper on the nose, really pleasant and fragrant. On the palate it was also extremely tasty - a good spice kick to it that you expect from a California Zinfandel. Drank over the course of 2 hours and it really hit its stride after 1 hour and continued to be good. I have 1 more bottle of this left - will likely drink soon as I believe it started to decline, but still in a good place now.
