Friday, December 12, 2014 - After several older Ridge Mataros, my expectations were admittedly high. Yet, the previous bottle of this wine was quite disjointed and showed VA. This one also showed VA, but instead of a muddled mess, was fairly thin on the palate. After some time, notes of ethyl acetate / nail polish became quite prominent. Plenty of underlying structure and nice funk and earth on the nose, but impossible to drink. Will give some air and retry.
