Friday, June 14, 2013 - Another solid showing from this delicious 2003 Malescot, third time tasting in as many months, consistent showing and quality. Dark core with clear rim, aromas of dark currants, violet, perfume, flint stone, earth, and hint of smokey pepper, very appealing. On the palate, plush, concentrated, grippy mouth feel, with notes of cherry and coffee bean. Nice structure with good balancing amounts of chewy tannins and acidic freshness. Decent finish with tobacco smoke and cherry.
