Tuesday, January 21, 2014 - Drank 1/21/14 with stuffed quail; wine was properly stored from purchase upon release until opened; Big initial bouquet of perfume and the French countryside; deep rich color; good legs; shouts "Bordeaux".
After 5 minutes: CASSIS! dark berries and red berries;
After 10 minutes: Berries overtake the cassis, big black fruit, along with mission and kadota figs;
After 15 minutes: still strong bouquet of berries and figs;
After 20 minutes: more berries emerge, blueberries, blackberries, boysenberries, still has cassis.
After 35 minutes: peaches, plums, pluots, honeysuckle, walnuts;
After 60 minutes, back to perfume, still lovely. Mouthwatering wine. In perfect balance, tannin is resolved but still keeps the wine going.
In the end, a hint of coffee and chocolate.
