Friday, November 28, 2014 - Deep dark red center, red rim with some signs of age.
Toasty, umami, blackberries and ripe black plums, touch of pencil shavings, iron.
Smooth, soy sauce, stewed plums and black cherries, toasted oak, pencil box, crayons, wax paper, some supporting tannins and acidity, a touch salty, some greenness towards the end, a little dill, okay length of mature red fruit.
Drinking well now, has a touch of the New World about it but also reminds of a northern Italian Cabernet, doesn't show the heat of the vintage.
