Friday, February 26, 2016 - Upon opening, there was a slight pervading green note. It blew off after awhile. The nose was quite subtle with hints of capsicum, cherries, cassis, spices and dried flowers. The palate was equally beguiling with slightly sweet red, blue and black berries, sous bois, dried flowers and capsicum. The sweet fruits made the difference in lifting the palate to feel brighter and fresh. The mouthfeel was slightly grainy but velvety, airy and light. Finish was medium and melded seamlessly to the mid palate. A wine of great balance in showing how the palate can have depth and slight intensity while being light and airy at the same time. A good showing for a ripe vintage. Can be enjoyed now but will still hold for a few more years.
