96 Points

Sunday, May 22, 2016 - Tasted blind, I was told afterward that this bottle had a high to mid-shoulder fill. The wine had a deep red/purple center and some orange at the rim. The medium+ intensity nose of black cherries, cola, ginger, mint, and soil. It had a 100 point nose!

In the mouth, the distinctive trait of this wine was its silky texture. It was amazing! It came across as refined as it danced over my tongue, yet it was also rich and had some acidity. This particular bottle also showed a touch of oxidation. It showed good, but not great, length. It was so refined you really needed to focus on it and any other flavors (like food or the '45 Mouton!) would easily deminish its impact.

I doubt this wine will be getting any better but it is pretty great now! Drink up.
