Tuesday, January 7, 2020 - I understand that this Villages-level Chablis is from Chapelot, just below Montée de Tonnerre. Reflecting it's good pedigree (and terroir!) ... Appropriately deep gold colour for this age with a tinge of green. Drunk over two evenings, during which it did not change. Showing real Chablis typicity on bouquet and palate with citric, mineral and green fruited and some more exotic fruit elements. Limes, river stones, grapefruit, oyster shells and tinned pineapple. Reduction that largely blew off after about two hours. A little oxidative development adds a touch of complexity. Good concentration and structure for this level. Grapey, tactile phenolics, quite 2013-typical Chablis. Racy, assertive acidity. Decent length. Finishes dry and chalky. There now for drinking, I doubt it'll improve. I'd drink over the next 3-4 years.
