Saturday, February 6, 2016 - This was the "opening" wine of a night dedicated to syrahs/shirazs. We opted to start with this wine because it was a blend. All of the others were 100% syrah. Decanted for 2+ hours. We really enjoyed this wine! The nose was full of fruit and almost no alcohol. I like that. The color was solid in the glass - by that I mean it was not opaque. Wonderful flavors of dark berries and raspberries, with just a little tang on the finish. I have to agree with the notes from "MRMEDOES" and say that I prefer Epoch's "Ingenuity" to this wine, but this one is damn good! This one is easily drinkable now!
FWIW... Of the other bottles for night, a 2003 St Jakobi shiraz from Australia and a 2009 Colson Canyon syrah from Joey Tensley were the standouts for me!
