Monday, September 17, 2012 - Decanted and poured, this wine gave a very good showing with aromatics that showed a blend of raspberry, leather, granite and some underlying funky elements. The bouquet, although expressive, never fully unifies and gives a somewhat uneven impression. The medium (full) bodied palate shows good overall balance and a blend of youthful and maturing notes; however an underlying funky element detracts from the overall impression. Based on this bottle, this wine may or may not benefit from additional bottle age.
