Sunday, November 27, 2022 - This was just gorgeous. This is the kind of bottle that brings me back to Rhys time after time. The highest highs of Rhys make up for the bad corks and OTH whites. (cork was borderline btw, but ultimately fine). We came to this after a couple of spicy dumplings so I'm not going to say my palate was pristine but we drank over some 2 hours and it just kept getting better and better. There was a savory earthiness, just gorgeous. I hate to say Burgundian as it's overused, but I'll allow my once-per-year use of the term. Very Burgundian in a top 1er or Grand Cru sort of way. Glorious finish. Light on its feet but so perfect at 12.6% abv. So many years ahead provided your cork holds up. But so good now.

Anecdotally I think they’ve improved but Rhys is far and away the premium producer with the most cork issues in my cellar. Like really the only one. Like maybe one outlier here and there with other producers but with Rhys it’s an occupational hazard.
