Wednesday, July 9, 2014 - Not a formal note but a memory based on 3 bottles consumed over the past year - one in summer '13 overlooking the la Tourtine vineyard from the village of La Cadiere, the second 2 consumed here in Brooklyn - the latter last week. No decant, aerated and poured . Blossoming nose of black fruit, raisins and earth as soon as the wine hit the glass. Magnificently smooth on the palette, with black and red fruit in perfect harmony. A great food wine: paired nicely with veal in La Cadiere at chez Berard and with grilled filet mignon here. Has the goods to go another 10 years. Extraordinary.
