Friday, May 29, 2015 - Decanted for approx. 75 minutes before tasting. A deep garnet coloration with a clearish pink meniscus. Exactly as expected from a red blend with a major merlot component. The moderately aromatic nose hints of dark cherry and oak. This comes through on the palate as well as blackberry. This is a full bodied wine, with very smooth tannins. The alcohol seemed to run a smidge hotter than I would have liked, but overall a fairly well balanced wine in a right bank Bordeaux style (although not quite as complex as a well aged wine). There are probably better buys out there, but this would be a nice, casual dinner wine for having friends over.
