Friday, September 16, 2016 - 66x Parker 100-Pointers from Bordeaux 1947-2010 tasted blind (Switzerland): Tasted blind. Dark ruby. Ripe and overt nose with dark fruit, cake, gingerbread, pine. Soft and full bodied on the palate, a real blockbuster but without being heavy. Very close to the Lafite next to it but not as elegant in my view. Another terrific showing in this outer-wordly flight. The group really, really loved this and it was the overall winner over the two days. Congratulations to Chateau Latour to win this large Bordeaux 100 Pointer shoot out. Group score: 19.30, group rank: 1/64

9/16/2016 5:38:00 PM - Alas every time I see a review of this wine I recall being the the NH State Liquor store when the 2003 Bordeaux was released. We were on quite a budget at the time and I pointed out the Margaux, Lafite and Latour to my wife. She surprised me and said get a bottle. I hemmed and hawed and the Latour was $325 vs. the Margaux for $299 so I grabbed the Margaux and to this day regret not getting the Latour. I am sure the Margaux will be great but darn the Latour sounds like a winner.

9/16/2016 6:56:00 PM - I think you married the right wife, two winners in the cellar! I actually prefer the Lafite in 2003 and the Margaux is great as well. Both are maturing a bit faster than the Latour and can be comfortably drunk now. Enjoy! BTW, prices for Latour 2003 have come down recently as well, still not cheat but well below 1k.
