Wednesday, January 22, 2014 - The Old Man brought to our dinner at Osteria Ottima.
Very much in line with previous tastings and the style of Monte Bello.
Dark creme de cassis, black cherries, lots of fruit covered tobacco leaves, leather - extremely dark and robust but still well harnessed.
Alcohol is in line and the tannins are completely integrated at this stage. It still has many years of holding steady but I would say this is drinking well right now.
Great food wine and this was perfect to finish off the night with our chocolate dessert.
