Takes the best elements from Bordeaux but the American oak and fruit profile distinguishes it as Californian. Decanted for 5 hours which left it drinking quite well but another 5-7 years will see a big improvement and it can of course go further than that. That said, as much as I enjoyed this, it was just missing a few elements of complexity to put it in my personal top echelon of wines.
