Friday, September 19, 2014 - After almost 80-ys the cork of this memorable bottle felt like a railway ground-threshold; not the kind of wine you expect to talk to you from the moment you've pulled it; an impressive ruby red with lighter rim; on the nose cold potatoes, mushrooms, on the palate burnt caramel sweetness, spices and sweetbitter chocolate with a balanced dry finish; kept putting on weight with time and oxygen, revealing Lafleur's legendary ageing potential followed by humble contemplation...
