Friday, December 7, 2018 - This was my first experience with a Bordeaux. It was deep ruby with a black core. Aromas of earthy, dry soil; dry moss; gravel; stale refrigerator; and black currant. It was very bold with high tannins that were grippy in the gums. The acidity seemed low, so it felt a bit flat. On the palate, I found black fruit and a hint of black pepper.
The mix is 63% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. It was very enjoyable and would go well with a marbled steak. I'm interested in tasting more Bordeaux wines even if my wallet isn't.
