Saturday, February 1, 2014 - I used to love Don Melchor. After opening multiple bottles of this vintage I can confidently say, this wine has become a overly sweet, almost port like expression of cabernet. While this was always a fruit forward, new world style it has gone too far and I no longer enjoy this wine. So much so, I poured that last bottle down the drain. I thought the first bottle or two might have been tainted, but there is no way that this was the case as I have had with multiple bottles from multiple sources...too bad.
