Friday, January 31, 2014 - According to Rare Wine Company, this was made from a parcel of the "best exposed" part of Le Haut-Lieu that was planted "during WWII" and then re-planted after this vintage (though if you've read "Wine & War," it's a bit hard to believe that vines were being planted during the war). In any event, this wine is still somewhat tight, with a lot of acidity and structure. While still sweet, I also get a bitter citrus, and a lot of minerality. Nice to drink now but certainly no hurry.
