Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - Decanted 3 hours ago. Darker than I thought it was going to be. Medium ruby color with very slight bricking of the rim. Ceader nose with dark cherries... then smoke and a hint of caramel. Very inviting! Great nose! Entry is very fruity and then spreads out to fill every crevice of the mouth. The glycerine in this Port is unbelieveable! Cherries, Coffee, and strawberries... with just a hint of casis. Mostly red fruits. Good acid kicks in to lighten it up. Obviously Graham's -- it's got the classic sweet and sour finish going on. The finish is medium bodied and is very fine. This Port doesn't assault you but lures you in. This reminds me of a younger version of the 1955 Graham's. It's still a bit young and the alcohol is peeking through on the finish. Nothing that a little more decant time won't take care of. Outstanding port!
