Thursday, March 5, 2009 - Splash decanted and allowed to open for about 45 minutes. Would much rather have popped and poured as I preferred it immediately out of the bottle. Dark berry and chocolate on the nose. Brawny purple berry with chocolate, and liquorice on the palate. Unfortunately after breathing it showed a bit of heat as well - at least the 14.7 abv on the label, maybe more. Overall much bigger and riper than my current tastes prefer, and correspondingly poorer with food.
