Quite a welcoming nose, very much new world Pinot, spice, sweet spice, red fruits, a touch Syrah-esque. Nose better than palate though and it's a bit too much heat, a few sharp edges too. Not over ripe or porty which is a nice thing to see but not a very harmonious wine either. 87-88
