Friday, November 21, 2014 - Open 3 hours: This shows a lot of herbal notes on the nose, anise, clove, parsley, black pepper, menthol. The fruit isn't as easy to describe, perhaps plums or old, dry blueberries. It tastes lightly like blueberries, plums and young blackberries. The pepper on the nose shows very lightly on the palate. Ends with a big burst of acidity and tart fruit, and is lightly tannic in the finish. This is an interesting bottle of wine, perhaps would be better with food than on it's own. This states only 11.5% abv on the bottle but doesn't come across as light or austere. Overall a really cool bottle of wine worth checking out if you are interested in WV Syrah.
