Saturday, July 4, 2015 - Hot and tight on pop and pour, but opened up nicely in 30 - 60 minutes. Nose of black fruit and spice. The volume is turned up clear across the palate, boldly sweet and tart with red and black stone fruit, raw and stewed. Long, spicy, sticky finish, just a few silty tannins. Nicely engineered in a tough drought year, I hardly fell in love with the bottle but it has the quality you'd expect with the Ridge name. Bought it on sale for 20 bucks and it seemed pretty reasonable, would have been less enamored of it at $30.
