Tuesday, December 23, 2014 - A beautiful, pure, light, and fresh expression of Pinot Noir from one of the Sonoma Coast's legendary vineyards. The essence of the fruit is there, but the winemaking has lifted it away from the riper and juicier elements often associated with the grape and region. The Champagne-style saignée actually outperforms many saignée rosés from Champagne itself, as those wines are often marred by underripe flavors, while the Ultramarine benefits from the friendly climate. Utterly delicious and compelling, drink or hold, just don't invite anyone over when you pop that cork-- it will be hard to share.
