Wednesday, October 28, 2020 - I've been drinking through some 2004 Pinots in my cellar with the thinking that many may be past prime. Not so with the Dehlinger, Goldridge Vineyard, RRV, (93) last night, nor with this delightful wonder. Unfortunately, my one and only bottle and it was right up there with the best of the CA 2004's. This is no burgundy! No amber at all. Uplifting nose with some alcohol (14.6%) of black cherry & raspberry with a little forest floor was followed up by a big mouthful of mostly raspberry fruit, a little candied at the end, fading to medium forest floor finish. According to winemaker Eric Hickey, it was from hand-selected barrels from their best blocks. Purchased at auction about 4 years ago for under $20 --- what a steal! It matched well with Salmon and Alfredo pasta and had enough acid to clear my palate all though the meal..... BRAVO!
