Saturday, December 9, 2023 - Dried strawberries and cedar on the nose. Smooth and resolved tannins lead to a punch in the throat of acidity and lingering notes of blood orange and chinotto. I mean that in a good way. Oddly moreish for such a big wine, though the bigness is really only felt in a touch of lingering heat on swallowing. Was worried as the cork crumbled on opening but it’s totally fine and in a nice place, I would guess unlikely to improve further.
