Community Tasting Note

Sunday, October 12, 2008 - 14.5% alc...the nose is rocking straight out of the bottle, vanilla, dusty, black currants, cocoa and a dash of liquid smoke...the palate is dense, full-bodied, velvety, still a rather large amount of fine tannin remains - perhaps a bit too sappy and lacking acidity for me at this point in my life, a lot of purple notes...if you told me this was 100% Shiraz I wouldn't argue - the Shiraz dominates the blend at this stage of its life...wanted something to just enjoy without food, this is it. I need to deplete my cellar of a majority of my Shiraz, just doesn't do it for me anymore.
