Tuesday, August 16, 2011 - Medium dark red color at first (small pour) but actually red-dark brown with normal pour.
Intense nose of garrigue, dried berry, charcoal nose;
On the palate it is rich, tight, dried berry, charcoal, garrigue, beets palate; long finish.
Very complex. It has a higher level of acidity than the typical CDP. it is well balanced between fruit, tannin & acidity, though a bit sweet (halfway to the Capo?) Very distinctive. Excellent wine but not outstanding. After three hours it was amazing as it opened up and softened.
The wine definitely has a fruit forward delivery.It is fantastic. Finally, it is a great value.
