Saturday, April 14, 2007 - clear, medium(+) intensity ruby color with lots of legs evident on the glass. clean, youthful, medium intensity nose of black pepper, plum, red cherry licquer, and brown leather. dry, medium(+) acid, high alcohol, full bodied, medium(+) tannin red wine. medium(+) intensity flavors of red cherry, raspberry, sweet spice (ginger?). long finish goes on for 45 seconds and continues to be packed with fruit flavors. Outstanding quality due to complexity of nose and palate, high tannins that are subtley masked by loads of fruit flavors, and excellent balance between acid and flavor. Not quite as good as I expected, but amazing nonetheless. Age 5 yrs and drink over the next 15-20. Excellent at release price, not sure at $100 price point.
