Tuesday, February 12, 2013 - Billecart is mostly known for their rose, but their Brut Reserve is also a very nice non-vintage champagne. Especially if you can find this for $40 per bottle or less. This is clearly a very pinot centric champagne (both pinot noir and meunier) and is relatively heavy with nice sappy flavors of honey, bread, yeast, vanilla, allspice, apple, and peach. The only complaint I have is that the finish is relatively short and the bubbles don't seem to last very long. This will go over well with anyone who leans toward pinot based champagne's and likes a heavier/leesy style.
