Thursday, April 5, 2018 - Dark dark red. A truly remarkable earthy, chalky nose (damp forest floor works too). After a taste the most striking feature is the balance. The acidity, near 16% heat, intense yet fine tannins, black fruit, and spice are just perfectly balanced - the combination leaving the taste (and memory of the nose) lingering for nearly a minute. I was blown away - and started with high expectations anyway.
