Wednesday, April 1, 2015 - Very dark, thick colour, lighter ruby rim.
Bacon fat, plums, prune, licorice and graphite. Rich and smokey, with floral violet edge. Very distinctive.
Medium to heavy weight, rich flavours but with a silky texture and long slippery finish. Above average acidity and fine ripe tannins. Dominated by darker fruits, plums and licorice with a graphite/tar spicy edge. Bacon fat comes through as well as a hint of blueberry and violets and a faintly herbal edge. Complex and delicious. Has softened but still very well structured. Near its peak but moving slowly.
