91 Points

Wednesday, January 20, 2016 - Dark and opaque core with garnet hue. Classic McLaren Vale Shiraz nose, powerful and full along with ripe plum, blackberry, black cherry, sweet licorice and toasty oak.
Rich and supple mouth-feel, with nuances of black cherry, plum, ripe fruits, blackberry, meat and hints of licorice. It has mellowed down to show good balance and finesse, although it is still pretty straightforward. Ripe and chewy tannins, fully integrated. Finishing getting better after it gradually open up.
One of the better 03 Shiraz without stewed, overripe fruits and heaviness fr a hot vintage. 15.5% alc hardly notice.
