Saturday, January 23, 2016 - To it's benefit, I think this 2011 is a little long in the tooth and would most likely have showed better aboiut a year ago. Probably not exactly fruit forward upon release, at this point in time the aged fruit is not fullfilling it's task of balancing some of the earthy stuff the terroir in Cohors is almost guaranteed to bring us. There is a noticeable streak of pencil lead and slate affecting the mostly dark fruit. Close to full bodied. Tar, licorice and wet tree bark secondary flavors. With a little more fruit we could better appreciate these normally enhancing flavors. Would like to try a more current vintage.
